Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Currently enrolled in, or completion of, a Power Engineering Program working towards a 4th Class Steam Ticket.

Gas plant and power generation experience would be considered an asset.

Excellent work ethic and a safety mindset.

Ability to work through December 31st, 2024.

Ability to work a 7-day on, 7-day off schedule.

The hourly pay for this position is $41.30 per hour. In addition to the hourly wage, the successful candidate will receive the standard allowances provided to Plant Operators.

About the North Pine Facilities:

The AltaGas North Pine facilities are located approximately 55 kilometers north of Fort St. John. BC. The North Pine Liquids Separation Facility is designed to process 20,000 BBLS of NGLs per day. The NGLs are separated into propane, butane, and condensate. The propane, butane, and condensate are then loaded onto rail cars. The North Pine Facility has access to the Canadian National Railway rail network, allowing for the transportation of our products to North American markets, including propane to AltaGas’ Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal. Temporary Relief Operator - AltaGas North Pine Facility


The AltaGas North Pine Facility is seeking a Relief Operator to support our operations team! Taking day-to-day direction from the Lead Operator, this position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our north liquid's assets.

The shift schedule for this facility is 7 days on, 7 days off rotating between days and nights. Preference will be given to candidates who currently reside in the Fort St. John area or are willing to relocate to the Fort St. John area for the term of the position, as this is not a camp-based role. Daily transportation is provided to and from Fort St. John.

What You'll Do:

Assist in the daily operation of the North Liquids facilities, working the 12-hour day/night shift schedule that will change depending on operations vacation, training, and absence coverage.

Assist in the safe and efficient operation of all scheduled and unscheduled work including operations, repairs, and maintenance.

Assists in pipeline ESDV, ROW inspections, and pigging operations.

Adhere to all AltaGas Operating policies, standards, procedures, and practices, and report on any facility safety incidents.
