Signposts And Promises

The Fort St. John North Peace Museum and the Alaska Highway Community Society have worked together to produce a book that compiles research and stories collected during the process to nominate sites along the Alaska Highway Corridor as a National Historic Site. Written by Julie Harris and Frank Edwards, Signposts and Promises: Canada and the Alaska Highway is a beautifully designed and lavishly illustrated large-format book that celebrates the Alaska Highway’s extraordinary natural and cultural landscape.   This book is now available at the Fort St. John North Peace Museum and is priced at $29.95.

Behavior Assistant Kids Connect Autism Program

Position: Behaviour Assistant, Kids Connect Autism Program   Permanent Part-Time   Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Behaviour Coordinator, the Behaviour Assistant will assist children to participate in the program activities of the Kids Connect Autism Program by following a program developed by the Behaviour Consultant or other service providers such as an Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.   Required Qualifications: - Completion of Grade 12 - At least one year experience working with children between the ages of 0 – 6 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or completion of a child and youth related course, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience working with children with special needs and developmental disabilities. - Completion of basic level First Aid and CPR.   Classification / Salary: $20.97- $ 22.85/hour as per community Sub Sector Collective Agreement   Hours of Work:  Permanent – Part-Time; 16-37.5 hours/week, excluding statutory holidays   Closing Date: Until Filled   Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter by the closing date indicated above to:   Susan Cross Family Services Coordinator 10417-106 Ave Fort St John BC V1J 2M8 250-785-3200 FAX 250-785-3202 E-mail: susan.cross@cdcfsj.ca   Note: Qualified internal applicants will be given priority.   Only those applicants shortlisted for an interview will be contacted

Black History Month Gala 2019

The Pan African Caribbean Association of Fort St John would like to invite you to a Gala to celebrate Black History Month on February 23rd, 2019 at the Mackenzie Ballroom, Stonebridge hotel,  9223-100 Street in Fort St John. Come experience a wide range of African and Caribbean cuisine, African beats by DJ Oga Rossco, a Fashion show with the latest African trends and other live entertainment.   Tickets are $40 for 14 years and above and $20 for children 6-13 years.
