Ace Instruments is a locally owned and operated instrumentation and electrical company with branches in Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie and Calgary. We provide quality sales and services to the oil and gas industry, as well as the industrial and commercial sectors. Ace Instruments Ltd is currently seeking a Finance Administrator who is a self-starter that is interested in contributing to the accounting department that is focused on building efficient processes and developing reliable and accurate financial information.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare year-end reconciliations
• Prepare year-end review engagement file preparation
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Review of GL data for completeness, accuracy, includes preparation of journal entries, adjusting entries and intercompany entries
• Preparation and maintenance of reconciliations such as bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, intercompany account reconciliations
• Assist in the development and execution of month-end and year-end close procedures
• Preparation of income statement and balance sheet variance analysis
• Prepare monthly lending documents
• Perform new customer credit checks and set up new Accounts Receivable (AR) customers as requested and assist with progress billing process.
• Perform write-offs from accounts receivable accounts
• Assist and resolve accounting related inquiries and problems
• Maintain fixed asset, prepaid, debt amortization, rent roll and insurance schedules
• Assist with various physical inventory procedures
• Prepare and remit monthly remittances such as PST, GST; WCB and EHT Quarterly
• Ensure PST compliance, including researching taxability requirements
• Completion of various Stats Canada surveys and questionnaires
• Complete special projects as assigned
• Payroll processing vacation coverage
• Other projects, analyses, and duties as required

The successful candidate will have the following requirements:
• Accounting Diploma with at least 5 years of experience with similar capacity in an accounting department for a company with multiple branches
• Must be able to communicate well in both verbal and written English
• Must have a thorough understanding and experience of the full accounting cycle, including A/R, A/P, payroll, reconciliations, trial balance, financial statements and year end procedures
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe and Windows operating system
• Advance Excel skills such as pivot table and V-lookup
• Excellent time and priority management skills
• Highly focused with attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team player with personal qualities of reliability and confidentiality
• Possesses a high ethical standard
