Youth Worker/ Behaviour Interventionist
Qualifications: A related degree or diploma (may be in progress): such as ABA, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Community Support Worker, Education Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience
Valid BC Drivers License with a clean Drivers Abstract and reliable transportation.
Clear Criminal Records Check -working with vulnerable population
Professional, positive attitude and appearance
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable working with youth in the community and home environments
Enjoy building relationships, making connections and providing mentorship
Ability to implement all aspects of programs (This may involve playing games, implementing coursework, providing academic support, teaching social skills, and skills for independence)
Preference will be given to those who:
A related degree or diploma: such as ABA, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Community Support Worker, or Education Assistant Certificate
Be CPR and First Aid Certified
Have experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis and/or managing challenging behaviours in children
Training and/or education related to working with individuals with ASD
Behaviour Interventionist Position for 2-4 Hours/Week. Wage – depending on qualifications and experience.

This position maybe ideal for a College Student as session will be in the client’s home or in the community after school. As a Behaviour Interventionist you would help a youth succeed in overcoming challenges and learn new skills.
Under the supervision of a Behaviour Consultant (BC), the Behaviour Interventionist (BI) provides direct Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy services for children and youth diagnosed on the autism spectrum
BI duties include but are not limited to:
Implement programs using ABA methods and principles to develop skills and eliminate or minimize challenging behaviours
Conduct one-on-one direct therapy in home or in the community
Work independently and efficiently unsupervised, problem solve, and manage challenging situations effectively
Direct work with clients includes various physical demands such as sitting on the floor, kneeling, squatting, running, twisting/turning, lifting, and frequent physical transitions
Collect and record data regularly throughout sessions
Attend and participate in regular training and team meetings
Communicate with Behaviour Consultant via distance
