Line Locator Assistants


Underworld Line Locating is an independently owned, private company whose head office is in Fort St. John. Underworld provides pipeline and utility marking services and ground disturbance management services for a diverse group of industries and clientele. Our service area encompasses all western Canada.

Underworld is seeking a hard working, positive-minded individual to join our team. All job-specific training will be provided for this starting position that may lead to promotion within our rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist the Senior Locator in completing the line locate field survey.
• Calibrate and test locating and safety equipment.
• Utilize work trucks, ATV’s, UTV’s, argos, and snowmobiles to access worksites.
• Participate in and contribute to our company safety and Q&A systems.
• Maintain and organize field units, worksites, and the office.

Qualifications & Job Requirements:
• Must possess the maturity and motivation to progress through an internal locator apprenticeship program designed to advance their skills and compensation.
• Mandatory safety certifications: H2S Alive and First Aid Level 1.
• Preference will be given to those applicants with a valid driver's license.
• Must be willing to stay and work away from Fort St. John for extended periods of time.
• Must be willing and able to stay in camp for extended periods.
• Must possess the fitness and stamina to work outdoors, for long hours, in all seasons.
• Must have the ability and physical capacity to lift 50 Ibs.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment, pre-access, and post incident drug & alcohol testing.
