Qualifications: Core Skillset:

• Research, analysis, and technical report writing
• Information Technology platforms (Microsoft 365 and Office)
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
• Growth mindset and demonstrated initiative
• Ability to work variable hours at short notice in all weather conditions

Position Requirements:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and;
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Experience/Education in biology, environmental science, archaeology, anthropology, geography, earth science, or soil/reclamation science) would be considered an asset
• Field work experience, and community volunteerism would be an asset

H3M is seeking a dynamic, fun, and keen Summer Student to join our team in Fort St. John. This is a temporary full-time role in partnership with Canada Summer Jobs. If you have a passion for Environmental work and would like to work with our industry leading team, we would love to hear from you. The summer student will work closely with our passionate team to develop a strong environmental skillset and obtain mentorship and training to help them reach the next level of their professional journey.

Role and Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Reclamation and Remediation Projects

•Assist in the assessment and preparation of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and reclamation monitoring reports

Special Projects
• Research industry trends in Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) reporting and emerging energy transition initiatives
• Support development of Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Protection Plans, and Key Performance Indicators

Biophysical and Heritage Field Programs
• Participate in field-based environmental studies such as bird sweeps, wildlife monitoring, and archeological digs
