Heavy Duty Mechanic


Peace Country Compression Ltd is actively recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the team. Applicants need to be highly motivated, be able to work independently and as part of a team as well as demonstrate a positive attitude.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Providing mechanical maintenance on various equipment
Rebuilding components and repairing equipment in the shop and the field
Maintaining shop equipment and cleanliness
Performing safety inspections and being available to attend safety meetings
Complying with all Occupational Health and Safety practices and training
Completing purchase orders and tracking parts used on jobs

Additional responsibilities include:

When required assist fellow employees with in house projects
Work independently and provide leadership to apprentice mechanics
Complete a detailed work ticket (time card) daily
Complying with PCC’s policies and procedures
Being punctual and having excellent attendance

Position Requires:

A trade certification and oilfield industry experience
Fundamental written and verbal communication skills
A positive attitude when interacting with customers and fellow staff members
Proficient with computers
Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills

Working conditions:

Locations of work can include outdoor customer sites and the shop in addition work includes exposure to safety hazards and extreme temperatures
Daily travel to customer locations is required therefore must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be available for after-hours call outs, weekend call outs, and staying in customer camps when required
Handling materials over 50lbs; work can be physically demanding
