Successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities:
• Maintain a safe work site and to follow Health & Safety policies and COR compliancy.
• Assist project team with estimating and sourcing civil and other opportunities.
• Review project plans and specifications. Provide commentary on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures, and potential construction problems.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules
• Oversee and evaluate progress of multiple projects and crews simultaneously
• Effectively and efficiently lead staff within the civil division as well as other divisions to ensure projects are on schedule, budget and seek opportunities for improvement.
• Report on daily shift activity
• Contact, schedule, and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers, and utilities.
• Issue and approve purchase orders. Review work orders and invoices to determine accuracy/compliance
• Control and monitor labour, material, and equipment expenses.
• Facilitate project close out, oversee final inspections, remedy deficiencies identified, serve as a point of reference for warranty work, and facilitate site demobilization
• Maintain a neat and tidy job site
Skills And Experience:
• 3-5 years’ experience in construction management
• Must have understanding of construction terms, scheduling, planning concepts and pricing
• Experience in water and sewer applications
• Knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment
• Must have experience reading blue prints and other drawings
• Able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
• Is proactive, self starter and action oriented
• Possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
