Description:

As a Sandblaster with Arctech Welding + Machining, the successful applicant will handle the task of sandblasting various projects from start to finish. You would be responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment.
The successful applicant would work closely with the workshop foreman to ensure that the appropriate priority of projects is followed and maintained.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
As a Sandblaster, your job requirements/duties will consist of but not be limited to:
• Ability to work, stand or walk for extended periods of time on various surfaces
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl for extended periods of time to carry out your duties as a sandblaster
• Physically fit
• Operation and safe use of hand, power and air tools
• Ability to lift items up to and over 25 kg
• Maintain and update online company training and safety documentation
• Ability to work independently or as a team member
• Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
• Respectfully able to work with all types of people with different personalities, cultures, and customs
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Dependable
• Gives attention to detail
• Mechanical minded individual - ability to problem solve mechanical issues with equipment
• Communicate in a positive manner
• Ability to multi-task, work with deadlines, work independently as well as within team environment

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous sandblasting experience an advantage but not necessary
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as the shop is in Charlie Lake, BC
• Fluent in English

Wage: $20-$28/hour depending on experience
