Our annual "Paws for a Cause" fundraiser was held on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at Centennial Park. What a beautiful day we had for our walk and games.
We would like to thank all those who came out, donated, participated in the walk, and those who helped organize and run the event. We didn't reach our goal of $10,000 this year (missed it by a few thousand), but we are so very grateful for the donations that we did receive. The North Peace SPCA is only able to keep open with help from our generous friends and community. If anyone would STILL like to donate, please feel free to stop by the shelter at 9311, 81st Ave (beside Generic Towing) or you can help us out in other ways. Please call 250-785-7722 for details.
We would encourageyou start thinking about our next big event- the annual Howl-o-weenbash! What will you dress up as? A French poodle? A cute kitty? Howabout a bag of dog food?
These are some of the photos from Saturday:
Getting set up
Our first furry (and not so furry) friends arrive
Tamsyn and Shayla practice their face painting skills
Dozer (shown below) is one of the shelter dogs available for adoption at the SPCA. He was very well behaved today!
Kimber- shown on the right was recently adopted from our shelter!
Santana (with red leash) is one of our lovely pets in foster care. If you are interested in a beautiful Catahoula hound mix, give the shelter a call at 250-785-7722 to make arrangements to meet him.
Our smallest dog guests
Getting prizes ready to give out is a lot harder than it looks!
Angus was adopted as a brand new baby from our shelter. He lost his mom, but seems quite happy here with his human mom
Team Scotia gets ready to lead the way, but not before presenting Rosolyn Kalb, our NPSPCA branch manager with a wonderful donation from the Fort St. John branch of Scotiabank.
Scotiabank is the corporate sponsor for the "Paws for a Cause" walk for the animals. We are so grateful to them, as well as our local Team Scotia!
And we're off!
More coming shortly... I have to go walk dogs now!
