Ace Instruments Ltd is currently seeking an Experienced Valve Technician to join our growing team.


The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Field valve troubleshooting, servicing, and repairs
• Shop valve cleaning, troubleshooting, tear down, servicing, repairs, rebuilding, tagging, and painting.
• Calibrate, function test, and troubleshoot choke valves and a variety of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric positioners and actuation.
• Assembling and breaking down new or used equipment.
• Hydro Testing
• Documenting detailed service records including non-conformances as required
• Courteous and professional communication with customers, vendors, and fellow employees
• General shop/ equipment maintenance and up-keep including storage, equipment clean-up and shipping and receiving as needed.
• Operate hand tools safely and properly, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Very strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
• Knowledge of gate, control, check and ball valves.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic actuators
• Basic computer skills and ability to read and interpret drawings, procedures, and specifications.
• Able to work overtime and in the field as required.
• Valid class 5 driver's license
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to operate safely in a heavy equipment shop environment as well as on-site.
• Knowledge and understanding of H2S conditions and procedures during servicing/ repair operations.
• Competent and current with all Health, Safety and Environment standards and training
• Pressurized equipment experience and technical certificate
