General Labourer

The labourer will assist with all the on-site duties required by the foreman of the construction project. This position reports to the Foreman or the Supervisor while on site.

Responsibilities
• Follow and complete the company’s safety practices, paperwork and procedures
• The use of shovels, rakes, hammers, cordless and electric tools with confidence
• Working closely with other labourers and operators on-site
• Running a trench packer, plate tamper, jumping jack, rock truck, GPS stick on different ground conditions as needed
• Proactively Identifying, addressing, and resolving issues and problems as or before they occur
• Developing and maintaining positive relationships with employees on-site
• Work as a team with other labourers to complete tasks safely
• Performing tasks that take physical labour to lift and/or move items manually when safe to do so, on a regular basis

• Work closely with team members and decision makers to identify safety hazards, safe procedures, and safe work practices

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Class 5 driver's license, clean drivers abstract
• ‘Hands-on’ experience in a general labourer or labour-intensive role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
