Qualifications: Education / Experience:

-1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Electrical Apprentice
-Competent and qualified Journeyman Electrician.
-Preference given to those with Red Seal Electrician status.
-Must be proficient in fundamentals of lockout/tagout.
-Familiarity with the work scope of other trades.
-Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
-Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS).
-Must have a strong work ethic and be reliable
-Canadian citizen or permanent resident requirement
-Valid drivers license with a clean record


Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics, electrical codes and client
specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
-Capable of testing electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current,
voltage and resistance.
-Installs, AC/DC Drives, PLC's, 480V power, 120V control circuits, 4160 volt switchgear,
transformers, motors, starters, relays, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
-Installs, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies,
lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
-Installs electrical panels, conduit, protective devices, switches, and related equipment.
-Fabricates, installs and/or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and
instrument troubleshooting and panel work.
-Works on systems operating at 240 Volts, 480 Volts wye, 480 Volts delta, 4160 volt
switchgear, transformers and motors by following electrical drawings and using test
instruments such as a voltmeters, ammeters and PC’s.
-Responsible and accountable for the safety of the apprentices under his/her direction,
identifies needs for crew safety, participates in safety tool box meetings, assists in initial Field
Level Risk Assessments
-(FLRA’s), and actively participates in any safety meetings / incident investigations when
required.
-Works with the Lead Hand and Foreman and assists in monitoring and assessing the
competency of apprentices and evaluating their capabilities to ensure their competency meets
the required level of quality and productivity.
-Provides material information to Lead Hand to requisition supplies to comply with
requirements of FIWP (Field Installed Work Packages).
-Inspects the completed work to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
-Complies with standards & procedures of the Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
-Journeyman Electricians are expected to guide and mentor apprentices



Work Conditions

Full-time hours (40 – 50 hrs a week)
Flexible schedule
Compensation varies depending on candidate and years of experience.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
Must be willing to travel to work sites
