• Completed or near completion of NCSO designation. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is beneficial.

Description:
Safety Coordinator
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible to review & maintain compliance of the company health, safety and environmental program. This position reports to the Operations Superintendent and will work directly with the Project Manager and Supervisors.
Responsibilities
• Review and approve Job site inspections and safety meetings. Reporting any deficiencies to employees and/or superintendent.
• Hazard assessments – identification of, prepare, and implement corrective actions.
• Onsite training orientations for new and existing site personnel.
• Maintain project safety and employee safety records.
• Book and coordinate safety training for employees as required.
• Track and manage subcontractor safety compliance.
• Ensure compliance of the company safety program, and the provincial occupational health and safety regulation(s)
• Work with management in preparing site evacuation plans.
• Prepare, display and update: safety: policies, posters, and initiatives.
• Working with site supervisors to ensure PPE is used correctly by everyone on the job site.
• Track all personnel injuries, property damage, near misses, special conditions.
• Investigate, prepare, and action all incidents.
• Submit, monitor and track all WCB claims & return to work instructions.
• Prepare all project safety plans and form along with monthly reports.
• Maintain Safety Manual.
• Maintain COR Audit compliance.
• Ensure compliance on ISN, Comply Works and all other safety compliance software.
• Joint Health & Safety Committee - set up and maintain with the Area Manager
• Completion and compliance of JHA’s with corresponding Written Practices and Procedures.
• LT Hazardous waste licence maintenance and renewals.
• Maintain tracking of all safety stats company wide.
• WCB – compliance reporting and communications involving any site inspections.
• Completion on safety documents required for prequalification packages.
