Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 Based on qualifications & experience

Nenan Dane zaa Deh Zona Children & Family Services (Nenan), is an organization representing Treaty 8 First Nations, Métis and Indigenous peoples and organizations in north-eastern British Columbia. Nenan is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to be our Executive Director. This is intended to help support Nenan in the development of a new child welfare system including jurisdiction, governance, service delivery and quality assurance. Services will be developed in a manner that is community driven and accountable, building upon the strengths, needs, culture and traditions of member communities.
Under the direction of the Nenan Dane zaa Deh Zona Family Services Society (hereafter “Nenan”) fourteen member Board of Directors. The Executive Director respectfully promotes positive working relationships between Government, communities and within Nenan. The Executive Director is responsible for supporting strategic planning and carrying out tasks and duties associated with the development and implementation of a Child & Family Services delegated agency

The successful applicant will have a masters or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work or a related field with a minimum of 3– 5 years working with First Nation, Métis and Indigenous communities. Other qualifications and skills held by the successful applicant include:
• Extensive Indigenous Governance experience with strong financial and administrative management skills in organizations and non-profit societies
• Contract development, management and reporting
• Service delivery model planning and program development and evaluation
• Human resources and supervisory experience, advocacy training
• Excellent negotiation, mediation and facilitation skills
• Extensive understanding of the present MCFD child welfare legislation, policy and the Aboriginal Operational Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License (driver’s abstract required)
• Criminal Records Check
• Knowledge of the communities within the Northeast (Treaty 8, culture, language, history) is an asset
