A few notes today about our upcoming season, please be patient with the long post.
First, we are looking for 2 new members to join our board, either a parent who has a child in the club, or someone who has knowledge and would be an asset to the team. We need a Treasurer, and a Secretary. Of course, we are always happy to have more leaders and volunteers, those positions are endless.
Treasurer Job description:
-Good knowledge of excel spread sheets
- Cheque writing (2 signatures required at all times)
- Collection of fees; some coordination required with secretary
- Coordinate fundraising with assistance from other directors
Secretary Job description:
- Printing, and coordinating all registration forms, including entering all information onto the website and Mailing documents to head office, and keeping an organized recorder of paper copies.
- Communicating with head office
- Social media posts of activity photos
-communicating with parents and other board member
-Taking meeting minutes and submitting them when necessary.
The secretary or the treasurer can take monthly regional calls.
Fees: Same as last year and split into two equal payments, first payments due no later than October 1st and the second payment due no later than January 31, 2020
All members must provide a fundraising deposit cheque dated May 31, 2020. If members do not participate in the bottle drive their cheque will be cashed.

September 7 One Stop @ Totem Mall 10am – 2pm
September 11 6:30-7:30pm Baldonnel School gym; returning members are encouraged to attend to welcome potential recruits
September 18 6:30-8pm Last opportunity to register, meet & greet; club supplied dinner, assign shirts to new members, old member can exchange shirts for a larger size must have badges removed and no stain on the shirt otherwise shirts are $65 each, t-shirts will also be available for $25 ea.
** Please note, all NEW MEMEBERS, both parents, or any adult over the age of 18 who intends to drop off on a regular basis, or attend meeting, camp outs or events MUST submit a criminal record check. These take at least 2 to 4 weeks to complete at the police station, and they are free. They do not call you when they are ready for pick up. Please check back periodically to make sure its done. These are due not later than October 15, 2019.
Bottle drive is Saturday October 19, 2019 in the parking lot of Baldonnel School. Should the weather be inclement Matt has offered a Canfor shop. Kat & Angele are away for this event; parents can either save their bottles or take them to the bottle depot and tell them to put them on the JFW account.
The meetings will be held at Baldonnel School, Wednesday nights from 630pm to 8pm. The first 10 min will be spent on knot tying and then the evenings schedule will resume. Please make sure your children come to every meeting prepared.
