Position: Early Childhood Educator Assistant (Playcare) January 4th, 2021-March 31st, 2021 or return of incumbent 

 

Summary of Duties: 

• Under the direction of Early Learning Program Supervisor and Early Learning Program Early Childhood Educators, the ECE Assistant will provide support to the (ELP) Preschool program and the children in the classroom. 

• The ECE assistant works as a team member with other staff and the children providing general support and assistance to the whole program to ensure effective inclusion of the children.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of one Early Childhood education course

• Must be licensed as an Early Childhood Assistant (must provide certificate number and expiry date)

• Completion of food safe (proof of certification required)

• Completion of Child Care First Aid (proof of certification required)

 

Classification/Salary: Grid 20 - $22.39 -$24.47

 

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 7.5 hrs./day 37.50/week 

 

Start Date:  January 4, 2021

Responsibilities and Abilities:

 

  Provide leadership and mentorship within the Early Learning Program Team in the Playcare (daycare) classroom

 

  Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with children, families, other staff and community members

 

  Assist the CDC team by providing quality child care, excellent service to families and building meaningful relationships as per our current program philosophy

 

  Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and CDC requirements

Qualifications:

The Fort St. John Child Development Centre (CDC) is a non-profit organization that has been supporting children with special needs and their families in Fort St. John and surrounding areas since 1973.

 

Our services and programs specialize in the area of Early Intervention, Early Learning, Autism, as well as provide Skills and Respite programming, Supported Child Development and Family Support services.

 

The CDC also provides a fully integrated preschool program for children with typical and special needs.
