JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with installation, test, calibration, and maintenance of valves, switches and measurement devices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Inspect and repair vales, switches and measurement devices according to manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Install stainless steel tubing for chemical pump injection lines.
  • Develop an understanding of process in oilfield gas plants, oil batteries and wellsites.
  • Work with a variety of pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing instruments to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature level, composition
  • Assist in the installation and termination of instrument tubing.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, and work orders
  • Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gages, temperature indicators, controllers, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments.
  • Read and interpret P&ID’s and electrical drawings.
  • Support general maintenance activities within the instrumentation department as required.
  • A demonstrated ability to work safe.
  • Complies with standards & procedures of the Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations

Education / Experience:

  • Currently indentured into the electrical trade, open to all levels of apprentices
  • If a Journeyman, a ticket must be supplied upon hire.
  • Must be proficient in fundamentals of lockout/tagout.
  • Familiarity with the work scope of other trades.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS).
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be reliable
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident requirement
  • Valid drivers license with a clean record

Work Conditions

  • Full-time hours (40 – 50 hrs a week)
  • Flexible schedule
  • Compensation varies depending on candidate and years of experience.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Must be willing to travel to work sites
